READING THE WATER
One number needs context.
A lake can sit near its normal elevation while its storage percentage tells a different story. Reservoir shape, conservation capacity and changing pool targets all matter. Each lake page puts the current reading beside recent changes, seasonal comparisons and historical extremes.
Plan with the official sources
These readings are daily averages, not live gauges. They do not confirm that a ramp is open or that a route is safe. Use the linked TWDB and TPWD pages for source notes, fishing rules and local access information.
